This
project demonstrated a strategy of decentralized wastewater
treatment and reclamation (reuse) so that appropriate reuse
strategies can become more widely utilized in Alabama for
the purpose of conserving drinking water supplies and addressing
stream quality issues. The demonstration project diverted
up to 50,000 gallons per day of raw sewage from the Three
Mile Creek Sewer Interceptor in Mobile to the decentralized
wastewater treatment facility demonstrating 3 innovative
technologies. Subsurface drip irrigation technology was then
used to for landscape irrigation of the Lake Drive Tricentennial
Park, an urban redevelopment project. |
