A CASE STUDY: HUNTSVILLE, AL MANAGING SYSTEM EXPANSION, MAINTENANCE & REHABILITATION Christian Dunaway, P.E. & Shane Davis, P.E.

Huntsville, AL, has seen tremendous growth on almost every front (population, land area, economic) throughout the last decade. The City of Huntsville (COH) has had in place an aggressive Sewer Master Plan to address these demands on the existing infrastructure as well as those needed to serve the growth. Planning and design of this new infrastructure is the easy part. Implementation of the plan coupled with the direct need for maintenance and rehabilitation of the sewer system has been the challenge - a challenge that the COH has met head-on. This presentation will address how COH has successfully managed this program and will highlight various aspects of the project.
